There are a lot of popup tools
available on the market. Each of them has their own angle and unique
qualities. Which one you choose to use is dependent upon your level
of comfort with popup marketing, your audience, and what your
ultimate marketing goal may be. For some, no single tool will do
everything, so a combination of tools may be called for. I probably
fall into this latter category and must own about 6 different popup
tools. Now I own a 7th -- Instant
PopOver.

This tools creates what
is commonly referred to as popover or hover ads. Unlike standard
popups that actually launch a new browser window, these popovers are
actually part of your web page's content and can not be blocked by
conventional popup blockers. This is good since almost every major
portal and ISP offers their subscribers popup blocking tools. So
with Instant
PopOver your popover ads stand a better chance of actually
being seen.
As popover tools go, Instant
PopOver gives you a great deal of control over the look and
feel of your popover including the type of border style for the
actual window. You can also create five different variations using
this tool, each with their own unique use:
-
Classic Window
Instant PopOvers
-
XP Style Window
Instant PopPvers
-
Float-In Instant
PopOvers
-
Sticky Ad Instant
PopOvers
-
Alert Instant
PopOvers
You can see examples of
each of these on their web site. I recommend you visit the site to
see these popovers in action because doing so will give you a better
idea of how they might appear on your own site.
In the demos, you'll see
examples of subscription boxes that were added the to popovers,
inviting visitors to subscribe to the site's newsletter. This is a
great way to boost subscriptions. This is not a built-in email
script to the product. In speaking with the developer of Instant
PopOver, he merely cut and pasted some Weber Autoresponder
code into the popover (You can do this, too, but joining Weber
Autoresponder -- it's a great service).
